Rosie the Riveter of The B-17

Rosie the Riveter was a symbol of the U.S. war effort that characterized the millions of women who had gone to work to replace the men who joined the armed forces. These women built thousands of airplanes during World War II.

The following photographs represent women who worked on the B-17 during the war years at Boeing Aircraft Company in Seattle Washington.
